Celebrarán Simposio de Ataxias en el marco de la Conferencia

Los directivos del Centro de Atención a las Ataxias Hereditarias de Holguín (CIRAH) que organizan periódicamente un encuentro internacional sobre este tema y los especialistas del CIREN que conforman el Comité Organizador de la 4ta Conferencia Científica Internacional “Restauración Neurológica 2014” y  acordaron aunar esfuerzos para contribuir al éxito de ambas conferencias científicas. Es así que entre el 5 y 7 de marzo de 2014 en el Palacio de Convenciones de La Habana y como parte de las actividades del encuentro que organiza el CIREN, se celebrará el VI Simposio Internacional de Ataxias Hereditarias. Prestigiosas figuras internacionales en el estudio y atención de las ataxias y especialistas cubanos del CIRAH presentarán interesantes y novedosos resultados de sus estudios sobre la etiología, fisiopatología, genética, biología molecular y tratamiento de estas enfermedades hereditarias.

Se amplía la cátedra el curso sobre Parkinson y Ataxias auspiciado por la Sociedad de Trastornos del Movimiento

La división Panamericana de la Sociedad de Trastornos del Movimiento anuncia la incorporación de dos reconocidos expertos a la cátedra del curso trans-congreso “Aspectos Científicos y Clínicos de la enfermedad de Parkinson y las ataxias cerebelosas”. Se trata de los Doctores Michele Tagliati, directos del Programa de Trastornos del Movimiento del Centro Médico Cedars-Sinai y Carlos Singer, jefe de la División de Trastornos del Movimiento de la Facultad de Medicina de la Universidad de Miami.

Estos especialistas se unen a los antes confirmados doctores Matthew Stern de la Universidad de Pensilvania, Irene Litvan de California San Diego, Jorge Juncos de Emory, Jeremy Schmahmann de Massachusets, José A. Obeso de Navarra y los cubanos Raúl Macías (CIREN)  y Luis Velázquez (CIRAH).

Sin dudas será un excelente curso para actualizar conocimientos sobre estas invalidantes enfermedades neurodegenerativas.

Ataxia Symposium to be held during the conference

Directives of the Center for the Care of Ataxia Patients in Holguin (CIRAH) which periodically organize an international meeting on this disease, and CIREN’s experts in charge with the organization of the 4th International Scientific Conference “Neurological Restoration 2014” agreed to join efforts to the success of both conferences. So, next March (5 to 7) in the National Convention Center in Havana, and within the meeting organized by CIREN, the VI International Symposium on Hereditary Ataxias will be held. Relevant international experts in the study and care of ataxia patients and Cuban specialists from CIRAH will present new and interesting results on the etiology, physiopathology, genetics, molecular biology and treatment of these hereditary diseases.

New Faculty members for the course on Parkinson and Ataxia sponsored by the Movement Disorders Society

The Pan-American division of the Movement Disorders Society welcomes two new experts to the Faculty of the trans-conference course “Clinical and Scientific Aspects of Parkinson´s disease and Cerebellar Ataxias”. They are Doctor Michele Tagliati, Director of the Movement Disorders Program in the Department of Neurology at Cedars-Sinai Medical Center, and Dr Carlos Singer Chief, Movement Disorders Division, in theUniversity of Miami Miller School of Medicine.

These experts will join the previously confirmed doctors Matthew Stern from the Pennsilvania University, Irene Litvan from California San Diego, Jorge Juncos from Emory, Jeremy Schmahmann from Massachusets, José A. Obeso from Navarra and the Cubans Raúl Macías (CIREN) and Luis Velázquez (CIRAH).

The course offers an excellent opportunity to update the knowledge on these invalidating neurodegenerative diseases.
